Your pictures went well with what the speaker was discussing at that time in the clip. The transitions are nice and smooth. It meight be a good idea to lable the picture of Moses Cleveland. I’m not sure if everyone that sees it will immediately identify who that is. But, it’s not necessary, the clip [...]

Nice clip. The pictures go well with the clip and they show the details of the building very well. It meight be a good idea to smooth out the beginning of the clip by taking out the interviewer’s voice and starting with “its such a tall building” but that is just a thought. I like [...]

I really like the clip. The background noise is a great idea. I’m not sure if the opening picture is the best option, it dosen’t depict the idea of markets clearly. But, other than that the pictures are intersting and go well with the ideas expressed in the clip.

The readings for this week have brought us back to the controversy that plagues museums and public history when attempting to determine the proper way to exhibit, interprete and provide education of historical events and objects. The attempts to remian neutral in interpritation restrict the abilities of professionals to provide adaquate details of…[Read more]

The NPS is faced with conserving, managing and preserving land that was and still is viewed in various ways by various individuals, cultures and governments. The acknowledgement that American land is in no way primitive or unaltered by human presence in not only interesting, but I believe, pivitol to the understanding of park land mangagement [...]

The significance section of the Forest Hill documents indicate that the pre-WWI architecture as well as the simiarities between various buildings provides the context for its historical significance. This seems to me as though it is fairly unique in terms of historic sites in the area. I am not currently aware of areas focused heavily [...]

I found some of the issues discussed in the Howard chapters slightly bothersome. To think of preservation in terms of the present day and what can be accomplished now seems to be the exact opposite of what I consider preservation to be. Howard adressed the use of preserved sites as a tool to solving issues [...]

I found the web sites for the The White House and Colonial Williamsburg to be user friendly and full of interesting information about the sites. The White House tour was informative and kept my attention. But, I’m not sure that a child or teenager would be interested in watching it or be intrigued enough to [...]

I really liked this poster and sound clip. The photos illustrate the ideas of capitalism, diversity and confusion that the market represented to the speaker and the friend’s mother. The number of photos goes well with the duration of the clip and over all I think that it is right on target.

The pictures are very good over all. However, because the clip is only a little over 30 seconds I think it might be a good idea to reduce the number of photos. Also, because he speaks of the height in the beginnig think about moving the photo that you pointed out as showing the height [...]

I think that both the poster and sound clip are interesting. The photos go well with the sound clip. It is hard for me to tell, but I felt like I couldn’t examine all of the photos during the short clip, maybe you could reduce the amount of photo you use so that there will [...]

The concept of “place” is an intrical part of Public History. The way that an individual or group identifies with its surrounding provides a large portion of the history that museum professionals attempt to express. By identifying the connection between these groups or individuals and the places that the reside in or frequent the museum [...]

Chapter 3 discusses the divide between historians and museum professionals. I know from past experience that this is an on going issue within the field. However, I am not sure that it will ever be fully resolved. In order to provide extensive historic interpritation one would have to provide detailed didactic panels to accompany the [...]
